CAT + ROME

I’ll be on a plane to Rome in 10 hours, but I’m getting a little desperate trying to sort things out to pack. I’m only taking hand luggage (which sounded good at the time, but isn’t looking so hot right now, especially as my camera takes up a 1/4 of my bag..) & for reasons unknown to me I’ve also decided that now is the best time to rearrange & organise the house. Hm.

I have a few half written posts but no time to take pictures & finish them, so I’m falling back on a cat post for the second time.

CAT #2 EYO

His name is Eyo 😀

He’s a British shorthair mix, & is deaf & has been since birth. We’ve had him for 3 years since he was 8 weeks old. He enjoys lights shining on walls, shadows & digging under clothes/bedding to form sleeping caves.

26) I have plans for gnocchi, calzone & gelato in Rome. Mmm.

=^.^=

Because I have nothing interesting to show (I’m waiting for things to be delivered) but still wanted to post on 11.1.11, here’s a picture of one of my cats.

CAT #3 LOKI

His name is Loki (:

He’s 8 months old, only just grew out of the ‘ugly phase’, & growls when he eats & plays (he was feral when we adopted him from Cats Protection.) The grey unfocused blob at the front of the image is one of his toy mice from Ikea.

24) I’m still putting off doing Uni work, have bought too many new things, & am not eating particularly healthily like I said I would (BBQ with egg-fried rice & chili oil mmmm.) What happened to my resolutions?

SUNDAY LUST LIST #1

This week I’m been lusting after:

ASOS HOODED MILITARY CAMEL CAPE ROCK CRYSTAL LONG PENDANT EPICALLY EPIC RED VELVET CAKE LIP BALM

1. ASOS Hooded Military Cape – After seeing it worn as part of the Project Take 10 Challenge by Little Bird Fashion, I’m feeling the urge to buy it. (She has a great sense of style.)

2. ASOS Rock Crystal Long Pendant – While on the ASOS website I noticed this necklace & loved it at first sight. While I was fiddling around to find my NUS card (20% yes!) it sold out, no! So sad.

3. Red Velvet Cake Lip Balm – Phyrra had a review up about some products by the Epically Epic Soap Co. I didn’t fancy any of the scents/flavours that I saw, but noticed this Red Velvet lip balm on their Etsy site. RED VELVET! It sounds delicious.

FRAGONARD JUSTE UN BAISER SOLID PERFUME RAW CUT AMETHYST RING

4. Fragonard Juste un Baiser Solid Perfume – I’ve been on the hunt for a solid perfume for a while. Jessica at Getting Cheeky featured one by Fragonard that sounds exactly like what I’ve been looking for. “A fusion of mandarin, pear and violet on a heart of blackberry and wild strawberry, leaving behind an imprint of vanilla, amber and musk. Sweet, fruity and voluptuous.” Yum.

5. Raw Cut Amethyst Ring I’ve always thought Amethysts were dated (I’m thinking of the semi-precious healing stones that you can often find in shops by the seaside.) Rings by Moorea-Seal have swayed me completely.

That’s it for this week! (:

33) Some of my favourite books are by Haruki Murakami.

WHAT’S IN MY BAG

25FLONDON WHAT'S IN MY BAG 1

25FLONDON WHAT'S IN MY BAG 2

I love to look at what’s in other peoples bags – it’s a nice little excuse to be nosy. Who’d have thought so much stuff would fit into such a small bag?

25FLONDON WHAT'S IN MY BAG 5

Rhodia notebook & fluorescent yellow Parker pen for taking notes, Nivea Milk & Honey lip balm, Victorinox penknife/keychain with keys (very handy because it contain a mini tweezer, scissors, etc), loose change (need a change purse), hair band, Clean & Clear oil control film, Nivea deo & Muji spray bottle filled with Victoria’s Secret Amber Romance body mist, umbrella (essential in the UK), Antenna Shop turquoise leather card holder (got in Korea) with my Oyster travel card, money & bank cards (I don’t carry a proper purse/wallet), B&BW Twilight hand sanitizer.

25FLONDON WHAT'S IN MY BAG 6

MAC Prep & Prime powder & Stila retractable brush (mislaid my MSF Natural, can’t fit my Chanel loose powder in my bag), NC35 Studio Finish concealer for touch ups, Orly Rage (didn’t have a chance to apply it at home), rose mirror, Barry M Toffee lip gloss, Beguiled Haus of Gloi pumpkin butter mini (my favourite scent of body butter ever, it’s beautiful.)

25FLONDON WHAT'S IN MY BAG 7

Sony 16GB (I have a habit of carrying it around because of Uni) with vending machine toy that I got in Korea, mini lint roller (3 cats = a lot of cat hair), B&BW Shea Cashmere hand cream, Carmex Moisture Plus Peach, Clarins Instant Lip Perfector & 17 Belle Mirror Shine lipstick (because I *need* 3 of the same shade of sheer lip product..)

25FLONDON WHAT'S IN MY BAG 4

Ticket stub from the European American football final (the team my boyfriend used to play for won!), necklace & ring (I wore it to the game the day before, didn’t want to wear them again the next day), random cat nail scissors that I picked back up from the boyfriend’s house, my friend/flatmates Panasonic Lumix LX-5 camera that I borrowed – didn’t want to carry my huge DSLR, 3D glasses & ticket from Transformers 3, Zaza stamp card from eating delicious Biscotti gelato.

What’s missing: hair pins, Tic Tacs, gum, & my phone.

I honestly don’t know how I can fit so much in one little bag! Or why I need to carry so much around. One day my featured bag will be a Balenciaga, but for now this £4 one from Primark will do! I actually really love it. (If you’ve got a W.I.M.B post, link it in the comments below – I’m curious!)

79) I’m missing Summer – it’s been around for only the odd few days here & there in the UK, so whenever it drops by the BBQ gets whipped out!

SPRING: BRIGHT NAILS, (& #WINNING)

If Spring brings anything other than two full days of sunshine in London, it’s the unveiling of sun deprived legs, frantic attempts to join the gym, & not knowing whether or not to take out an umbrella. & bright nails 😀

I’ve whipped a few old favourites out of hibernation in anticipation of sunny days to come. (Today was piping hot, so I wore Barry M Pink Flamingo on my nails. It looks great with the slight tan I’m developing!)

SPARKLE & FADE UNNAMED BARRY M MINT GREEN BARRY M TURQUOISE BARIELLE DARING DAHLIA

BARIELLE DARING DAHLIA BARRY M TURQUOISE BARRY M MINT GREEN SPARKLE & FADE UNNAMED SWATCH

Sparkle & Fade Unknown Shade (14ml) I bought this shade last Summer (or the one before) from Urban Outfitters. There’s no name on it, but it’s an opaque, creamy chartreuse. I don’t think it’s available anymore. If you like it, it reminds me of Illamasqua Radium – minus the shimmer.

Barry M Mint Green (10ml/£2.99) I don’t really think of this as a minty green – it leans a little too blue for that. I do like the shade, but this particular colour has a watery/slightly streaky formula. It has a cream finish & takes a few coats to become opaque.

Barry M Turquoise (10ml/£2.99) Like Mint Green, I don’t think this shade is a true turquoise. It lacks enough green, so I’d class it as a darker sky blue. The formula is easier to work with & goes opaque in two coats.

Barielle Daring Dahlia (14ml/£8.00) Is a beautiful fuchsia with fine fuchsia & silver shimmer. It has a jelly like texture, but is surprisingly opaque.  Like most Barielle polishes, I find that shimmer sinks to the bottom of the bottle between each use & the colours tends to separate, so it needs a good shake before use.

17 MIAMI RIMMEL CORALICIOUS RIMMEL TANGERINE BARIELLE BLOSSOM SWATCH

17 Miami (12ml/£2.99) I think this range has been discontinued, but I love this bright hot pink shade. It has a cream finish, & is very opaque & glossy. It lasts a surprisingly long time on me before chipping (everything else averages 2-3 days, this can last up to 5) so I’m disappointed that this range has gone!

Rimmel Tangerine Queen (8ml/£2.99) Is a true bright orange with a cream finish. It’s pretty much fully opaque in one coat, but I find that the formula gets thick very quickly & becomes difficult to work with.

Rimmel Coralicious (8ml/£2.99) This was my favourite shade to wear last Summer. It’s a beautiful deep coral with no shimmer. Like Tangerine Queen, the formula thickens significantly after a couple of months, but it’s a nice opaque shade & easy to apply before it becomes gloopy.

Barielle Blossom (14ml/£8.00) Is a bright peach shade. Its slightly streaky on the first coat, but recovers on the second. I find the formula to be a little thin, & the yellow in the shade often separates to the top. It’s a beautiful colour so I’m willing to work with it, but only just.

Is there anything you’d recommend I try next? I don’t have easy access to Zoya, so I’d appreciate recommendations before I eBay!

62) & finally, I’m happy to announce that the winners of my recent giveaway are: OPI Coney Island Cotton Candy goes to Yu of MakeYuUp, & Chanel Jersey Rose goes to Arianne of GlitterGeek! Drop me an email with your details, & I’ll send them out to you as soon as I can 😀

QUESTION TIME!

If you haven’t already noticed, or are not already reading the lovely Tiffany’s blog, Will Work For Makeup (you should, one of my favourite blogs!) then you wouldn’t know that I’ve been featured in her blogger interrogation series

25FLONDON

I’m proud to say that I could only find one spelling/grammatical error (I wrote ‘there’ instead of ‘their’, oops! Explainable through late nights & a lot of Uni work..) but if you find more, feel free to say ‘:D

While on the subject of questions, I received a Stylish Blogger award from the wonderful Aseya of Pretty in the Desert, another great blog/lady! So I have to divulge 7 things about myself. & have a think & pass it on to other bloggers soon.

1. My favourite number is the number 7, I’m oddly drawn to it.
2. I’ve never broken a bone, but did have an appendectomy. When I was under, I dreamt about a cheese factory with a conveyor belt that mannequins with beach wear were riding. & the farmer was growing the cheese on sticks.. There were sheep wandering around & he cultivated the cheese by wrapping their wool around the stick, & then pouring milk onto it. Hm.
3. I have a really odd sense of humour.
4. I love taking photographs! Which is really weird, because I hated my camera in December. I couldn’t work it out, & the controls/options intimidated me.
5. If I could change anything about myself, I’d wish for a flatter stomach. Time to hit the gym.
6. I love blogging, even if I don’t post everyday. I’m working on posting more often!
7. & finally, I’m late to everything. It’s usually on the ‘5 minutes late, so it’s more annoying that I didn’t just set off 5 minutes earlier’ scale, but I’ve been known to be much worse. Really bad habit.

Well.. after all the sudden bulk of personal information, if you have anything else you want to ask me (could be about anything!) then feel free to in the comments. This is question time, after all 😀 & thank you to Tiffany & Aseya!

71) Question for you: Do you take a blog more seriously if it has a lot of followers? Are you more likely to pay attention to what the person is saying?
